Shaving double coats (e.g. Huskies, Great Pyrenees, Pomeranians, Rottweilers, Border Collies, etc) may result in damaging the coat temporarily or permanently. It may also increase risk of ailments including, but not limited to: bacterial skin infections, alopecia, sunburn, clogged sebaceous glands, and allergies.

Matting can be incredibly painful and may cause, among other things, bruising, skin infections, necrosis, mold and mildew, hot spots and difficulty moving around.
Any pet that comes in will be assessed for matting. If the Groomer determines the pet needs to be shaved, it will be discussed fully with the Owner. The option to take the pet home ungroomed will be given, however, we will require payment for the appointment.
